Overview

The Business Analyst will report to the Program Director and will support the Global Group Risk & Compliance function as they undertake a strengthening program aimed at uplifting the risk management capability maturity. This role will provide business analysis to a range of risk and compliance initiatives involving policy, process and system changes.
Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities Strategic Focus
  • Ensure program delivery aligns with strategic objectives and organisational standards.
  • Provide business analysis across a range of risk & compliance initiatives to ensure effective implementation and operationalisation
Business Analysis
  • Lead analysis and discussions to elicit targeted business requirements that are fit for purpose.
  • Analyse regulatory and policy changes, assessing their impact on the business.
  • Develop and prepare comprehensive business requirements documentation and user stories to meet stakeholder needs and achieve operational best practice.
  • Identify and support to implement continuous improvements within the program.
  • Develop a gap analysis to analyse if business requirements are being met.
  • Define, manage, and plan to ensure deliverables are completed within agreed time frames and in accordance with stakeholder expectations.
  • Actively participate and contribute to solution design discussions to support Technical Analysts in completing technical specifications.
  • Develop implementation and operationalisation assets, including Playbooks, SoPs, Process Maps, and templates.
  • Work with third-party vendors and enterprise teams to implement changes to the GRC system.
  • Support all stages of testing, ensuring the implemented solution reflects the agreed requirements, and manage defects and change requests that may arise.
  • Provide input into the development of training, procedures, and business readiness plans to ensure smooth implementation and effective change management.
  • Support the Project Manager, manage post-implementation support to minimise business disruption, including delivering effective hyper-care.
  • Diligently follow up on any outstanding issues with business users or IT developers to ensure that projects and change initiatives are promptly closed out.
  • Ensure effective transition and handover to BAU teams, as part of project closure through effective documentation, communication, and clear process SOPs.
People Leadership
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine risk and compliance processes and support policy implementations and control enhancements.
  • Work collaboratively with other BAs and other project resources
  • Develop and maintain professional and strong working relationship with key senior stakeholders including the Head of Strategic Initiatives, Reporting & Analytics, Group Head of Frameworks & Policies and Divisional Heads of Risk and Compliance and their teams
  • Foster strong working relationships with external vendors and other internal stakeholders and SMEs
Governance & Risk
  • Create and deliver risk mitigation strategies to anticipate, assess and resolve risks as they are encountered
  • Promoting a culture of risk and compliance awareness. Ensuring compliance with all regulations, industry standards and MPMS values.
  • Promote a best-practice culture within the business through training, education and compliance awareness.

Experience & Personal Attributes
  • 7-10 years in business analysis, risk, or compliance roles.
  • Experience in policy implementation and regulatory change programs.
  • Experience working on GRC system changes and enhancements,
  • Knowledge of APRA, ASIC, and AUSTRAC requirements.
  • An ability to connect, engage, pivot and change while at the same time being thoughtful, considerate and respectful of others.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proven ability to engage, negotiate and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to organise and coordinate others
