Business Events Tasmania is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and strategic-minded Director based in Lutruwita / Tasmania to join its Board. The Board meetings are held bi-monthly across the State and can be attended virtually.

• Contribute to the overall governance and strategic direction of Business Events Tasmania.
• Leverage your expertise and networks to identify and evaluate new business opportunities for the organisation.
• Provide guidance and oversight on the financial management and performance of the organisation.
• Champion the work of Business Events Tasmania and act as an ambassador within the local community and industry.
• Participate actively in Board meetings.

• Extensive experience in a senior leadership or Board Director role; an understanding of Government relations, particularly the Tasmanian political landscape, is preferred.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to see the big picture.
• Excellent corporate governance and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to represent the organisation effectively.
• Financial acumen and the ability to understand and interpret financial statements.
• A commitment to the mission and values of Business Events Tasmania.

The Tasmanian Convention Bureau trading as Business Events Tasmania is a public company limited by guarantee, governed by a board of nine (9) Directors which is responsible for the overall control and management of the Company and all its affairs. Business Events Tasmania is the peak body responsible for promoting Tasmania as a premier business events destination.

We work closely with local tourism operators, venues, and industry partners to attract and secure major conferences and meetings for the state. Our mission is to drive economic growth and raise the profile of Tasmania on the national and international stage.
