The role provides therapeutic care to enrich the safety, attachment and physical and emotional development for trauma-impacted children and young people living in a residential setting. This role provides an intensive level of care to children and young people aged 0 to 17 with complex needs. The role is to provide high quality day-to-day therapeutic care, act as a positive role model and supervise the children and young people who live in the home. Although the role comes with its challenges, it is highly rewarding, and you will play an integral part in a community that brings positive change to a young person’s life. This model works on a 24/7 roster, where there are active night shifts seven days a week.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum Cert IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention or other higher level qualification in Social Work/Youth Work equivalent is essential. However, Lighthouse will employ applicants who commit to enrolling in a relevant qualification
- Applicants must also complete the mandatory Top Up Units as required by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing
- Must hold a current Working with Children Check (Employee version)
- Must complete a National Criminal Records check, and participate in a psycho-social screen by Lighthouse
- Must provide consent for a Disqualified Carers Check
- Valid first aid certificate and CPR (or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement)
- Must hold a valid Victorian driver’s licence
- Must hold either Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residence or valid Australian Work Visa
