The role:

The Department of Health are seeking a dedicated Associate Nurse Unit Manager to join their team at the King Island Hospital & Community Health Centre.

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) position is a clinically focused role that operates on a fully rotational shift basis.

The ANUM supports the NUM to

  • Provide leadership to the King Island Hospital and Health Centre (KIHCHC) inclusive of emergency, sub-acute care and residential care.
  • Ensure the efficient and effective provision of care, based on clinical standards and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
  • Provide mentorship and support to staff, and help drive continuous improvement in patient outcomes

Details of appointment:

Permanent part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 2 June 2025.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Regional Allowances

  • District Allowances of up to $4,618 per annum for a family
  • Remote and Rural Professional Development Allowance of $3,699 per annum and an additional salary allowance of 10%

Benefits available to eligible candidates:

  • Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.
  • Remote Professional Development Allowance up to $3,614 pro rata
  • A range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Professional Development Support.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

  • Current Working with vulnerable people Registration
