Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Speech Pathologist to join this clinical multidisciplinary team based in Orange, NSW. The role involves providing high-quality assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based therapy for clients with communication and/or swallowing difficulties across the lifespan. The successful applicant will demonstrate a commitment to person-centred care, professional growth, and effective collaboration with clients, families, and service providers.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Speech Pathologist, you will make a positive impact and enable patients to achieve their swallowing and communication goals by:
- Providing professional, evidence based and comprehensive assessments of speech, language, communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
- Developing and implenting individualised therapy plans based on client goals and clinical best practice.
- Working collaboratively with clients, families, carers, and other professionals to support functional communication outcomes.
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional, organisational, and funding body standards (NDIS, Medicare, private health).
- Participating in team meetings, supervision, and continuous professional development activities.
- Contributing to service development, quality improvement, and health promotion initiatives as required.
Selection Criteria:
Essential:
- Bachelors/Master's Degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
- Highly developed skills in assessment, intervention and treatment of adults and children with swallowing and communication disorders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team and ability to grow the practice.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines and complete activities within scope of practice.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence based practice.
- Proficiency in using clinical management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- National Police Check and current Driver's Licence.
Desirable:
- Experience working with NDIS, paediatrics, aged care, rural health.
- Familiarity with Australian funding frameworks such as NDIS , Medicare.
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with diverse populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
