Description

Riverside Adventist School is seeking a dedicated Teacher Aide to join our team. This Fixed-Term Term-Time position offers an exciting opportunity to provide valuable support within an educational setting. As a Teacher Aide, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the classroom teacher in implementing learning activities and supporting students in their educational development.
  • Providing one-on-one or small group assistance to students who require additional support with their learning.
  • Supporting the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of classroom resources and materials.
  • Supervising and supporting students during break times and off-site activities as required.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure the holistic development of each student.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping students reach their full potential. Previous experience working in an educational setting or with children is desirable. Skills And Experiences
  • Experience working as a teacher aide or in a classroom environment or working with children
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to support and assist students with diverse learning needs
  • Understanding of educational strategies and techniques
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures (training provided)
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals
