CONTINUING SENIOR LECTURER/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR APPOINTMENT AND CONCURRENT 3 YEAR TERM AS DIRECTOR (INTERNATIONAL)
Edith Cowan University's School of Education is seeking a strategic academic leader with strong international academic experience to join our Executive Leadership Team as Director (International). This role offers an exceptional opportunity to shape our global engagement strategy and expand our international footprint.
The successful candidate will be appointed to both a continuing position as Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor and will also serve an initial concurrent term of three years as Director (International), with possibility for future renewal.

The Position

The Director (International) will be a key member of the School's Executive Leadership Team, responsible for developing, managing, and implementing the School's international academic partnership strategies in new and existing markets. Working within a diverse multicultural context, you will:
Lead development of the School’s international strategy and provide advice on international opportunities, risks, and compliance matters Enhance the School’s global reach and impact Grow international student participation and income Deliver high-quality transnational education programs Attract students through international partnerships and pathways Secure access to new research partnerships Enable and support student and staff mobility with international partnersThis role requires strong business acumen with the ability to develop and manage contracts with international partners, assess financial viability, and represent ECU's interests while demonstrating the University's values.
As a continuing Senior Lecturer /Associate Professor, in addition to the concurrent Director (International) leadership role, you will also devote the remaining time to research and scholarship within your applied academic profession.
About You
You are an experienced senior academic leader with:
A PhD in a relevant Education discipline and already holds a minimum Senior Lecturer appointment in a higher education institution Comprehensive leadership capabilities to effectively engage, collaborate, negotiate and influence at a senior leadership level, in diverse countries International experience building productive international partnerships, demonstrated through previous experience working within an international educational context Sound knowledge of the Australian higher education sector and international education Capacity to develop and operationalise institutional and School academic governance requirements Strong business acumen, including cost-benefit modelling and contract managementNow is an exciting time to join the School of Education as we prepare to consolidate on one metropolitan campus in 2026, together with the regional South West Bunbury campus, with newly refurbished contemporary facilities and expanding global partnerships.
