About the Role
The Program Lead – CDS Reform is accountable to the Manager Policy and Legislation for strategic planning, management and delivery of reforms to South Australia’s Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) in consultation with internal and external stakeholders.
This involves the planning, coordination and implementation of reforms based on approved project plans that ensure the Director, Executive Leadership Team and Chief Executive can clearly track project objectives, milestones, budget implications, risks and forward planning.
The Program Lead – CDS Reform also provides expert advice on the commercial, contractual and implementation aspects of CDS reform and may represent the EPA or the Government on committees and other groups at the state or national levels as required.
The establishment and maintenance of networks and relationships with other individuals and agencies, both Government and non-Government, are an essential part of this responsibility, including maintaining networks to progress agreed CDS national harmonisation initiatives.

The EPA is responsible for the administration of the Environment Protection Act 1993 (EP Act) and the Radiation Protection and Control Act 2021 (RPC Act) and also exercises responsibilities under other South Australian planning and environmental legislation.

Desirable Qualifications, Knowledge or Experience
- Relevant qualifications in commerce, business management, law or similar.
- Relevant qualification or experience in project management and policy development.
- Advanced training in project management and evaluation.
- Relevant qualifications or experience in the circular economy.
Remuneration
ASO8 ($121,107 - $125,679 per annum) + 11.5% super to your choice of superfund.
Contract
Term contract (until 2 June 2027) and full time (37.5 hours per week).
Special Conditions
- This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. A current National Police Clearance is essential.
- The incumbent may be required to work out of hours and as the need arises.
