Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join Bowls Australia (BA) as Club Support Manager in Victoria. Employed by BA, the position is responsible for providing support to affiliated Victorian Bowls Clubs and Bowls Victoria as part of Bowls Australia’s Club Support Program, with a focus on enhancing club participation and growth.

The successful candidate will work in partnership with Bowls Victoria and the Club Support Manager network to increase capability in the Club system by implementing tailored bowls specific Club Education and Development initiatives and support Clubs to understand how to be welcoming, safe and inclusive. They will use data and intelligence to increase participation through identifying appropriate, relevant initiatives and improve the digital literacy, reach and capability of Clubs.

Part of the role will also involve working in partnership with the Head of Club Support to produce monthly reports and identify best practice case studies to showcase via BA media channels.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Increase capability in the Club system by implementing tailored bowls specific Club Education and Development initiatives.

  • Promote and educate Clubs on the support available through the CSM role and the CLUBMAP program.
  • Build capability in the Club system by supporting Clubs to undertake the BA/CLUBMAP Club Health Check to identify areas for improvement.

2. Support Clubs to understand how to be welcoming, safe and inclusive.

  • Review their current offering.
  • Signpost Clubs to appropriate resources.
  • Encourage Clubs to access education.

3. Use data and intelligence to work with Clubs to increase participation through identifying appropriate, relevant interventions.

  • Show Clubs where they can find information on their local community and how they can use this to undertake targeted recruitment work.
  • Support Clubs to review their offerings for different members of the community in which they exist.
  • Provide Clubs with tools and resources to deliver social participation programs and recruitment and retention initiatives to grow Bowls Membership.

4. Improve digital literacy, reach and capability of Clubs.

  • Work with Clubs to improve their websites and social media presence
  • Support Clubs in the utilisation of BowlsLink.

5. Report on KPIs and other deliverables and provide examples of best practice.

  • Meet identified reporting requirements in expected timelines.
  • Highlight examples of best practice to be showcased on BA media channels.

Major Interactions:

You will engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Bowls Victoria, club representatives, members, fellow BA staff, contractors, local government authorities, schools, and community groups.

Unique Criteria:

This role offers unique challenges and opportunities, including:

  • Travel within a designated region.
  • Unique work hours - must be flexible to meet the needs of Clubs.
  • Travel interstate as required.
  • Periods of work from home office.
