The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director Finance, the Finance Planning and Analysis Manager- Transmission Use of System (TUoS) role will provide the financial analysis of the “Transmission Use of Service” business function. The role will provide providing commercial analysis on revenue, costs and cashflow insights to support the Executive with strategic budget decisions.
This role focuses on accurate financial planning, budgeting and forecasting and business partnering with project and overhead Business Units to monitor expenditures related to TUoS. The role aligns the strategic focus of revenue, costing with financial planning and regulatory requirements.

What you will deliver
• Proactively engage with internal stakeholders to build strong and effective working relationships with VicGrid executives, directors and staff, coaching for change and taking on the resolution of particular financial-related issues for VicGrid and its projects, seeking input and presenting clear options for decision.
• Manage and develop sophisticated financial models to forecast transmission costs, revenues, and TUoS charges. This often includes analysing historical data, understanding fixed and variable costs associated with transmission infrastructure, and projecting costs based on future transmission requirements.
• Perform scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to evaluate the financial impact of various factors, such as changes in energy demand, regulatory adjustments, or new infrastructure projects.

What you will bring
• You will have demonstrable experience in financial planning and analysis of operational performance to inform budget formulation, modelling, forecasting and projections.
• You will have demonstrable experience in a similar role, building relationships and partnering with the business providing to provide financial management advice that aligns with organisational objectives and strategies.
• You will have strong understanding of Victorian Government financial policies and processes will be highly regarded but is not essential.
• Experience working in a similar role within the energy or utilities sector would be highly regarded.

Preferred candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening, including a Declaration and Consent form and a National Police Check.
To be eligible for appointment to this role, applicants will possess corresponding work rights for the advertised employment period. Should there be an opportunity for an ongoing appointment, these will only be available to an Australian/New Zealand citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident.
