About The Position
Our client is looking for a Structural Steel Estimator to join our team based in Cairns, Qld. You will be responsible for completing take-offs of all items, cost estimates and working closely with the client to ensure understanding of the project. This may be a remote role or relocation assistance for the right candidate.

Your Duties Will Include
Business developmentComplete take-offs of all items relevant to complete the structural steel and metalwork scope of worksLabour and material estimatesObtain quotes from suppliers for all items required to complete the scope of works Ensure that the tender complies with the project specificationsEnsures that value adding opportunities are identified and explored where possibleLiaise with clients tendering the project to discuss ambiguous items and clarify scopeCompile tender submission and submit to relevant clientsIdentify and price contract variations and assist with pricing if requiredCreating relationships and customer satisfaction
What You Will Bring To Us
Senior Estimator - over 5 years experienceJunior estimator - 1-2 years experienceDemonstrated experience in a similar role within the building and construction or mining environmentExperience in the steel fabrication and erection preferredAbility to multi-task and manage several tenders at onceExcellent organisation and time management skillsKnowledge of regulations, best practices, and performance standardsAbility to accept directions and constructive criticism and make necessary adjustmentsA working knowledge of tendering for projects & project managementFlexible and cooperative team attitudeSelf-motivated and enthusiastic Work autonomously and meet deadlines set by workloadContinuous Improvement as an individual & in support of the department
