About the Role
They are currently seeking an experienced Administration Assistant to join their team in Tamworth. This is an estimated 7-week temporary assignment, with a strong potential to extend. You will be required to work Monday to Friday 8am-4pm.
Working within the Custodial Corrections business unit, you will be required to provide a wide range of correctional administrative support services to facilitate the delivery and performance of the Correctional Centre. This role involves financial administrative duties including handling inmates internal accounts and files.
As a representative for Correctional facility, please note that this role includes minimal inmate interaction
Responsibilities
- Act as first point of contact, including reception and switchboard duties
- Deliver high level professional customer service
- Answering enquiries, providing accurate and timely responses
- Escalate complex issues to senior team members, when required
- Create and process visitor bookings
- Manage, sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail
- Update and allocate phone numbers in a bespoke system
- Generate routine correspondence ensuring concise and information if provided
- Gather and collate information, generating report and making recommendations to support informed decision-making outcomes
- Provide a wide range of correctional administrative support functions to the team including preparation of files, sentence administration, inmate classification / case management, documentation and reports
- Manage and maintain inmate accounts including processing of payments and cash handling
- Establish and maintain key stakeholder relationships, facilitating collaboration, partnerships and contribution of idea’s
- Manage and maintain office equipment and stationery
- Records and database management ensuring high integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
About You
- Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
- Professional, resilient and a great work ethic
- Strong computer literacy skills and proficiency especially with MS Office suite, OIMS and TRIM
- Superior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines
- High attention to detail
Requirements
- Demonstrated Administration or Business Support experience
- Previous experience working within a complex and sensitive environment
- Flexibility to work 8am-4pm Monday to Friday onsite
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
- Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
