THE ROLE
EPEC are looking for Commissioning Technicians to join our team in this field based role, ensuring substation primary plants are commissioned in accordance with appropriate policies and procedures. This role will provide a professional technical consultancy and management service through the application of well-developed engineering capability. Previous experience performing commissioning and integration of primary substation equipment through provision of testing and commissioning services, ensuring procedural technical compliance and risk analysis components are delivered efficiently, within scope will be essential.
Other duties include assisting with the development of inspection and test plans for substation primary plant, testing on complex primary plant in substations without supervision, preparation of commissioning reports and supporting technical documentation, reviewing electrical designs for HV substations and supporting the Field Services Business unit with field related activities (including HV Switching).
The ability to clearly articulate and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders is critical. Our ideal candidate will possess high level critical thinking and problem solving with a collaborative working style.
ABOUT YOU
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with test equipment and tools required during primary plant commissioning
- 5+ years of experience in commissioning primary plant in high voltage installations
- QLD Electrical Fitter Mechanics License essential
- A Current C Class Driver’s Licence essential
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to primary plant commissioning
- High EQ with excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Associate Degree/Diploma (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering desirable but not essential
- Nationally accredited HV Switching Certificate desirable
- Valid working rights within Australia essential
