Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Head of Operations - Gardening at Nomadic Home & Garden Pty Ltd, located in Adelaide, SA. The Head of Operations will oversee the day-to-day management of gardening operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to project timelines. This role involves supervising teams, coordinating schedules, and managing budgets for gardening and landscaping projects.
The Head of Operations will also be responsible for training apprentices and trainees, ensuring they develop the necessary skills to contribute effectively to the team. The role includes managing and executing regular and one-off garden maintenance jobs, supporting larger landscaping projects, and providing on-site training and assistance to staff. Additionally, the position involves estimating potential new works, liaising with clients, and ensuring that all jobs meet company standards for quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of gardening and maintenance teams.
- Manage and execute routine and one-off garden maintenance tasks.
- Assist in the planning and execution of large-scale landscaping projects.
- Train and mentor apprentices and trainees.
- Provide on-site support and guidance to staff.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency.
- Estimate potential new work and prepare quotes.
- Maintain clear communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure all projects adhere to safety regulations and company standards.
- Work closely with senior management to improve processes and service offerings.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in operations management and budgeting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to lead, train, and manage teams effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the gardening or landscaping industry is essential.
- Track record of successful project management.
- Bachelor's degree or relevant certification in Horticulture, Business Management, or a related field.
