About the opportunity
Position: Senior Pharmacist (Geriatric and Evaluation Management in the Home)
Vacancy: Fixed Term Temporary Part-time up to 30/06/2028 (with possibility of extension up to 12 months), 38 hours per fortnight
Location: Pharmacy Department, Townsville University Hospital
What's on offer?
Pro rata remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value of up to $157,360 p.a.
- Salary range: $64.64 - $69.55 p.h. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (HP4).
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading and 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

About the role
- Act as a clinical reference point for the pharmacy team and respond to every-day clinical demands associated with Geriatric sub-acute inpatient management in the home.
- Contribution to the advancement of quality clinical pharmacy services and optimal patient care, through provision of service development, quality improvement, and clinical education.
- Monitoring and reporting on work practices and outcomes, including initiating, planning, and evaluating relevant quality and research initiatives.
- Apply independent clinical judgement and sound decision making to sometimes complex medication and patient-related issues. Work independently with limited clinical/professional supervision.
Role requirements
Possession of a Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent) from a recognised tertiary institution. Registration as a pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Highly regarded
- A post graduate qualification (diploma or similar) and competencies that align with Advanced Pharmacy Practice level 1 (SHPA) or above.
- Previous experience and skills in caring for older persons in the community setting, and the public health care sector.
