Millee’s Deli and Kosherlicious, operated by DENA’S KOSHER KITCHEN PTY LIMITED , is Sydney’s premium kosher catering company based in Rose Bay, NSW. Founded by culinary professionals Dena Miller and Minette Lee Warden, we have delivered modern, high-quality kosher cuisine across a wide range of venues and events since 2012. We are seeking a full-time Senior Cook to join our dedicated kitchen team.
About the Role:
As a Senior Cook, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of kosher meals in accordance with Jewish dietary laws, supporting our chefs in day-to-day kitchen operations, and helping deliver exceptional catering services to a diverse clientele. The ideal candidate will have solid commercial cooking experience and a strong understanding—or willingness to learn—kosher food handling practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily food preparation while adhering to kosher guidelines and kitchen protocols
- Prepare ingredients and cook a wide variety of kosher dishes for catering functions, events, and deli service
- Ensure meat and dairy products are kept strictly separate and correctly handled according to kosher laws
- Maintain a clean and compliant kosher kitchen environment at all times
- Present dishes with attention to appearance, freshness, and portion control
- Support the Head Chef with kitchen logistics and supervise junior staff when needed
- Monitor food storage and inventory to maintain kosher standards
- Assist with kosher certification requirements and liaise with mashgiach (kosher supervisor) as needed
- Contribute to menu development with new kosher-friendly recipes
- Stay updated on kosher food trends and preparation methods
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Relevant qualifications in Cookery (or equivalent)
- Minimum of two years' experience in a commercial kitchen
- Prior experience in a kosher kitchen is highly regarded, but not essential (training can be provided)
- Strong understanding of food hygiene, handling, and safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, event-based environment
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Adaptability, initiative, and a positive attitude toward learning and leadership
Salary:
$70,000 – $80,000 per annum (excluding superannuation)
