Step into a pivotal leadership role as the Head of Internal Audit, a position which offers the opportunity to influence DETSI's governance, ensuring systems,
processes, and controls are both efficient and effective.
In this role, you'll lead the development and execution of an annual, risk-aligned internal audit workplan designed to meet DETSI's strategic priorities. Managing cosourced audit arrangements, you'll oversee high-quality, agile service delivery that directly supports business goals. Acting as a trusted advisor to the Director-General, Executive Leadership Team, and Audit and Risk Committee (ARC), you'll provide expert guidance on assurance, audit, and internal control matters. Through regular reporting, you'll offer actionable recommendations while monitoring their implementation to deliver ongoing improvements across the department.
Your leadership will also extend to ensuring the risk framework is reflected within audit processes while identifying opportunities to enhance practices. By expertly coordinating ARC activities—including briefings with the ARC Chair and key stakeholders—and engaging with the Queensland Audit Office, you'll ensure strategic alignment and seamless audit operations.
Collaboration will be a cornerstone of your success in this role. You'll build strong relationships across DETSI and the wider sector, innovating the audit delivery model to drive efficiencies and further improve outcomes. In addition, you'll play a key part in fostering a workplace culture that values equity, diversity, and specifically supports the interests of First Nations people.
