Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Manual Machinist to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining manual lathes, milling machines, and other workshop equipment to manufacture high-precision components in line with technical specifications and quality standards.
Position Details:
- Monday to Friday roster with overtime available
- 6:30am to 2:36pm daily
- Casual Temp to Perm opportunity
- $53.12 per hour plus penalties
- Available for immediate start
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacture and repairs of precision parts, machining and operating computer controlled machines of products associated with mining equipment, construction, plant equipment, using manual and lathe machines.
- Ability to mill, cut, grind, bore, drill and plane metal materials and castings within tolerance levels
- Able to complete "one-off" jobs and samples based on drawings/sketches.
- Produce high-quality work within appropriate timeframes
- Contribute to a safe work environment and follow company policies and procedures
The successful candidate, must have:
- Relevant Trade qualification - Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical or Fitting and Turning)
- Hold current drivers' licence and reliable transport
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Able to read and interpret drawings and measurements accurately
- Strong knowledge of machining practices and safety standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical including Drug/Alcohol screen.
