We are currently seeking applications for a Network Security Governance Engineer to join the Office of the Chief Information Officer at the Department of Treasury and Finance ongoing.

Remuneration: ASO6 – Salary Range ($98,478 - $104,165 p.a.).

About the opportunity:

The Network Security Governance Engineer is accountable to the Manager Network Security Governance, assisting in the provision of effective governance for several central functions across the South Australian Government data networks. The incumbent will ensure that OCIO’s business strategies are enforced throughout every process / approval / review in accordance with the ‘StateNet Conditions of Connection’ and ‘South Australia Cyber Security Framework (SACSF)’. The role will also provide technical advice to the OCIO, all SA Government agencies and members of the Network Hardware and Services Marketplace (NHSM) panel to ensure that changes to the StateNet environment are in line with SA Government policies.

About you

To be successful you will:

  1. Maintain a strong working relationship with the agencies and members of the NHSM panel to ensure that all requests to modify the government’s data networking environments are in line with best practice and the StateNet Conditions of Connection
  2. Maintain a strong working relationship with agency ICT security personnel to ensure that individual agency policy requirements are well understood.
  3. Provide expert advice for ICT Security related change management and ensure that changes made to the StateNet/agency environments do not open the SA Government to any unnecessary security risk/s and/or impact the overall government environment in relation to outages.
  4. Co-ordinate the control of edge connected devices into the SA Governments core network and ensure that changes to the States data networks will not impact the core or agency environments without formal approval and knowledge of an expected impact.
  5. Assist with managing Third-Party Network Assessments and initial approvals thereof for third parties wanting to connect to StateNet for agency in line with set procedures.
  6. Actively work with the agencies and NHSM panel members to advise on the strategic alignment of the network with the State’s current and future directions.
  7. Safeguard the appropriate management of agency private IP and public IP addresses within the StateNet centralised IPAM solution.
  8. Provide advice on technical architecture recommendations for the Architecture Review Group that will facilitate the delivery of improved services whilst not introducing unnecessary risks.
  9. Capture project and support issues and where required escalate to both internal to OCIO, agency and NHSM panel members.
  10. Review solutions and/or new technology proposals, assisting with compliance with SA Government policies and standards.
