The Department of State Development is South Australia's lead economic development agency, driving sustainable growth and raising productivity by fostering innovation, trade, investment and workforce development. The Executive Director, Trade & International will lead the vision, development and implementation of South Australia’s trade and investment strategy, with a key focus on promoting South Australia’s brand both domestically and internationally. Reporting to the Chief Executive and as a key advisor to the Minister for Trade and Investment, you will play an influential role in shaping South Australia’s trade and international engagement landscape, strengthening its position in global markets. You will lead at an enterprise level, overseeing the international, trade and Brand SA teams, fostering a culture of high performance and driving excellence. By building strategic networks and stakeholder relationships, you will promote international trade opportunities that contribute to economic and policy outcomes across government.

An experienced trade and investment executive, you will have a successful track record of leading high-profile programs and shaping strategic policy either within government or as a key advisor to government. A contemporary leader, with exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation expertise, you ideally will have experience in leading within large, complex organisations, and a demonstrated ability to work with industry stakeholders to achieve joint objectives. Global experience would be highly regarded.
