About the role

Permanent full time opportunity to provide family centred clinical services to patients presenting to Childrens' emergency department, short stay or inpatient ward.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Deliver evidence based, developmentally appropriate interventions that include therapeutic and medical play, preparation and education to reduce fear, anxiety and pain related to hospitalisation.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families/carers.
  • Deliver child and family support services inclusive of the development of clinical practice procedures and protocols as required.
  • Demonstrate an advanced level of knowledge in relevant clinical areas through participation in professional development, quality activities and/or research activities.
