About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate and experienced Nurse Consultant to join our team, specialising in the care and support of patients diagnosed with soft tissue sarcomas. As a recognised expert in your field, you will provide advanced clinical care, education, and advice to individuals and their families, while leading initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and improve service delivery across the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN). This pivotal role involves working closely within multidisciplinary teams, participating in nurse-led clinics, and contributing to the implementation of national and international care guidelines for soft tissue sarcoma.
In this dynamic role, you'll take a leadership position, offering clinical guidance to fellow nursing staff and participating in the coordination of quality improvement projects that advance soft tissue sarcoma care. With a significant degree of autonomy, you'll accept accountability for your clinical practice, delegation of care, and the alignment of services with best practice standards. Your commitment will directly support patient-centred care and service excellence within a collaborative and supportive healthcare environment.
About You
We're looking for a dedicated and clinically experienced Nurse Consultant to lead and support the delivery of high-quality care for patients with soft tissue sarcomas. You'll bring strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a collaborative approach to this specialist nursing role within a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current registration (or eligibility) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding a practising certificate.
- Highly developed leadership, communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to inspire and support teams.
- Demonstrated clinical competence in Oncology nursing, including surgical and post-operative care for patients with a Sarcoma diagnosis.
- A sound understanding of relevant legislation, healthcare standards, and contemporary nursing practice, with a proven ability to lead service improvement initiatives.
