South West Healthcare is seeking suitably skilled and experienced candidates with a background in Health Information Services, specifically in clinical record, data and coding, to apply for the position of Manager Health Information Services (HIS) Coding Quality and Assurance.
About the Role
Reporting into the role of Senior Manager Health Information Services, the Manager HIS Coding Quality and Assurance primary responsibility is to oversee the coordination and strategic direction of clinical coding and documentation functions to ensure auditing and health requirements are successfully met.
Responsible for South West Healthcare's team of clinical coders and Health Information Managers (HIM), the role will manage the timely completion, validation and auditing of clinical coding for all the organisation's episodes of care.
Further to this, the position of Manager HIS Coding Quality and Assurance will be active and key in providing education to relevant areas of the organisation in applying and obtaining activity-based funding from relevant external bodies.
As an operational manager, this position will have a significant influence in shaping a positive and high performing culture.
Position Overview
- Permanent, Full Time (80 hours per fortnight) with a monthly accrued day off
- Based in Warrnambool
- Classification: Health Information Manager Grade 4
- Salary Range: $126,079.20 - $138,928.40 per annum, plus superannuation
What you bring:
- An undergraduate or post-graduate qualification in Health Information Management.
- Eligibility for membership with the Health Information Management Association Australia (HIMMA)
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing a health information service providing clinical records management, clinical data management, clinical coding and Health Information Access Services.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health information systems
- Demonstrated effective management and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide impactful leadership
- High-level commitment to continuous quality improvement
- High-level computer literacy and excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
