The Role
Join a passionate, highly motivated team focusing on leading the City’s Urban Forest portfolio.
In this leadership role, you will be an integral part of the team, ensuring that our tree population is developed, maintained, protected and promoted. You will also support integrated streetscape implementation with tree data, prioritisation and technical inputs.
You will also coordinate the delivery of Greening Greater Bendigo, the first urban forest strategy for Greater Bendigo. It is a 50-year strategic vision for increasing canopy cover and improving tree health across urban areas and townships of Greater Bendigo.
The role supervises 5 team members and is located at our Adam Street Depot in Golden Square or Galkangu Office, Lyttleton Terrace Bendigo with standard work hours 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated knowledge and comprehension in tree management, Urban Forestry and plant identification, with the demonstrated ability to identify and assess trees and vegetation. You will also have team leadership skills, excellent communication skills, skills in managing time and setting priorities and be proficient in the use of computer software with the ability to learn new systems.
If you hold relevant qualifications in Arboriculture or a similar discipline, we welcome your application.
