WHS & Risk Officer – CootamundraApplications are invited from interested persons for the full-time position of WHS & Risk Officer based at our Cootamundra office.
This is a professional role that includes administering Council’s Workplace Health, Safety and Risk Management policies and procedures, insurances, audits and registers.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensure Council’s policies and procedures in relation to Work Health and Safety and the management of public liability and risk comply with legislative requirements, reflect industry best practice and are consistent with AS/NZS ISO 13000:2209 Risk Management – Principles and Guidelines.
Manage and administer Council’s suite of insurance policies.
Develop and maintain Council’s asset data bases and registers for risk management, insurance, WHS and asset management purposes.
Ensure periodic risk management, asset and WHS audits are routinely undertaken.
Ensure employees and external contractors are inducted and trained in WHS policy and procedures and are informed of their responsibilities under the relevant legislation.
Ensure public liability and WHS risks and hazards are controlled and minimized through continual monitoring and review of Council’s Risk Management and WHS policies and procedures.
Perform the role of WHS Committee Secretary and promote a culture of continuous improvement in WHS awareness and practice at all levels within Council.
Coordinate the Drug and Alcohol procedures and follow up with actions.
Benefits
Salary range of $1,482.61 to $1,734.30 gross per week
11.5% superannuation.
9-day fortnight working arrangement.
