Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is eager to recruit a Senior Occupational Therapist to work in our dynamic, growing and supportive team, to help us deliver exceptional care to our community.

About the Role:

The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is a leading provider of public healthcare services in South Australia.

In this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to provide high quality care for inpatients and outpatients of NALHN, to optimise health outcomes. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary group of healthcare professionals, leveraging your expertise to develop and implement personalised treatment plans.

Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive assessments, designing and implementing innovative interventions and providing expert guidance to patients and their families. On the acute wards at Lyell McEwin and Modbury Hospitals, you will support the OT Department by providing patient care, supervise and support lesser experienced OTs, assist with workload management and allocation of referrals, and contribute to quality improvement activities in the team. You will manage a varied and complex clinical caseload, across specialities of general medicine, neurology, orthopaedics, emergency and general surgery, honing your skills in working with patients with a variety of conditions, like stroke, bariatric, frailty, joint replacements, and cognitive decline. You will demonstrate confidence and competence in conducting comprehensive functional and cognitive assessments to determine needs of the patient using a combination of assessments and clinical observations; and develop therapy plans, interventions and discharge plans to help patients achieve their goals.

To be eligible for this position, you must hold an appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
