About the role

We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our dynamic Pharmacy team as Allied Health Assistants (AHA1 or AHA2) . This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive pharmacy service that supports the health and wellbeing of both inpatients and outpatients. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficient dispensing and distribution of medications, assisting in reception and cashier duties, and supporting the manufacture and packaging of pharmaceuticals.

This role offers two classification levels, depending on your skills and experience. The AHA1 level is designed as an entry point to the profession, offering hands-on experience and development opportunities with the intention of progressing to AHA2 after completing a relevant Certificate III or six months of continuous service. The AHA2 level reflects a more advanced scope of practice, including responsibilities such as inventory management, technical training of staff, and coordination of daily workloads. Whether you're starting your career or building on existing experience, this is a fantastic chance to grow in a supportive and collaborative healthcare environment.

About You

You are a proactive and collaborative team member with a strong foundation in pharmacy support and a keen eye for detail. Your ability to work both independently and under supervision ensures safe and efficient service delivery in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

  • Demonstrated experience in hospital pharmacy operations with sound knowledge of pharmaceutical products, PBS, medical terminology, and pharmacy software.

  • Strong written communication, arithmetic, and technical skills with the ability to follow documented procedures and maintain accurate records.

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

  • Physically capable of performing manual tasks such as lifting, pushing, and reaching, while maintaining a high standard of organisation and attention to detail.
