  • Build an open and dynamic environment that focuses on delivering outcomes, prioritisation, learning and adapting as we go.

  • Provide leadership, guidance and development of employees and teams to effectively achieve team, department, and enterprise outcomes.

  • Provide proactive and effective communication, encouraging multilevel feedback and fostering a culture of openness and trust.

  • Foster collaborative relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders to achieve enterprise outcomes.

About you:

  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a team of economists and technical experts to deliver agreed-upon outputs, including leading through change.

  • Experience developing and successfully implementing strategic plans at a department/business unit level.

  • Experience anticipating and managing complex risks and engaging with multiple stakeholders to successfully deliver strategic objectives, including the effective management of staff health, safety and holistic wellbeing.

  • Experience in developing policies, systems, and processes, including substantial experience in the provision of high-level policy advice and recommendations for change.

  • Ability to write and communicate for different audiences, contexts, and objectives.

  • Experience credibly representing public or private sector organisations at a senior level, in formal and informal settings.

  • Strong understanding of the Australian economy, financial markets, and system.

  • Strong understanding of the purpose of the central bank, and the context in which all functional areas contribute to the strategic goals of the enterprise.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in economics or a related discipline, preferably at postgraduate level, or equivalent experience.
