Capital Markets & Advisory Graduate Analysts
ING, Australia’s most recommended bank is strategically growing Wholesale Banking in APAC. Present and active in 11 major economies across APAC, namely Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam. Wholesale Banking business lines include Financial Markets, Capital Markets & Advisory, Sectors, Lending and Transaction Services and other enabling functions.
As part of this growth story, we have new Analyst opportunities in our Sydney Capital Markets & Advisory (CMA) team . Analysts in our CMA program will complete rotations with different CMA teams, before final placement into one of the CMA teams. For each rotation, Analysts will operate as part of a team responsible for the origination, execution and distribution of CMA transactions.
Before commencement of the first rotation Analysts will be taken through a tailored ING Wholesale Bank training program covering ING’s business practices, CMA’s role within the Wholesale Bank along with various finance, accounting, systems, procedures and processes.

About Capital Markets & Advisory (CMA)
Established in 2023, CMA is a global business unit platform with operations in Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas. It represents the single centre of excellence for our advisory business and related financing activities across ING, incorporating Corporate Finance (M&A), Acquisition Finance, Global Capital Markets (Debt Capital Markets, Asset Securitization and Ratings Advisory), Corporate Investments and Loan Distribution Group. CMA aims to capture opportunities in our clients’ boardrooms to deliver high value-added strategic advisory and financing services.
What you’ll do
Gain exposure to and experience in the following CMA areas:
· ING | Acquisition Finance
· ING | Global Capital Markets
· ING | Loan Syndication
The Loan Distribution Group manages ING’s financing activities in the primary and secondary loan markets including the use of insurance related products as risk and/or capital distribution tools.
- Core Tasks & Material Responsibilities (applicable for all rotations):
- Origination: (a) drafting marketing materials including pitch books and presentations; (b) detailed credit analysis of clients/targets/situations including valuation analysis (as relevant); and (c) market research, competitor analysis and appropriate capital structure reviews (as relevant)
- Deal execution: (a) valuation, pricing, credit analysis and/or financial analysis (as relevant); (b) key transaction administration (dataroom, Q&A, meeting coordination, etc) and/or deal documentation (e.g. term sheets, mandate letters, facility agreements); (c) day-to-day process coordination and communication with clients / other advisers; (d) assistance in the drafting of transaction documentation; and (e) processing of documents for internal project approvals
- Liaising closely with colleagues in other CMA product teams to deliver integrated solutions to ING’s clients
- Monitoring relevant market information and collection of market data and dynamics in support of teams
- Assisting teams in maintaining relevant databases, filing systems and presentation templates
- Build knowledge of the activities of key clients, credit products available in the market and how leveraged finance, global capital markets and underwriting / loan distribution and sales teams compete in market
- Compliance & Non-Financial Risk undertaking to be responsible for understanding how the regulatory rules apply to you, your role and team. Responsible for ensuring your business complies with the spirit and letter of the Conduct Rules and all legal, regulatory and ethical standards including ING policies, procedures, guidance and the ING Orange Code

What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Business, Economics, Finance, or Advanced Mathematics with excellent results
- Recent graduate or with up to 1 year of relevant experience e.g.: corporate or investment banking or similar
- Possess strong analytical skills, methodical and meticulous with competencies to perform financial modelling and financial analysis e.g.: Knowledge in fundamental and market-oriented valuation methods
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated individual and confident team player with a high degree of initiative
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrate ability to work under tight timelines within a team setting
- Screening and selection may include a modelling exercise to determine a better understanding of your qualitative and quantitative skills and to shed some insights on the nature of the job and the skills required of an Analyst at ING CMA.
