Join Kestrel Coal as a Graduate Electrical Engineer, contributing to underground coal mining operations with a focus on technical and professional development.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participating in rotations with operational and technical teams to understand operations.
  • Assisting with the maintenance and reliability of electrical systems.
  • Contributing to project planning, execution, and improvement initiatives.
  • Performing root cause analysis and troubleshooting equipment performance.
  • Supporting compliance with safety, statutory, and environmental standards.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the site.
  • Participating in technical training, site rotations, and development workshops.

About You

Ideal candidates will have:

  • A recent or soon-to-be degree in Electrical Engineering (Bachelor level).
  • A strong interest in mining and heavy industry.
  • Practical mindset with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and a collaborative team player attitude.
  • Commitment to safety, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong software skills including Microsoft applications.
  • Willingness to live in (or relocate to) Emerald, QLD.
