Triple L Pty Ltd, trading as NumberWorks'nWords, Leichhardt are looking for a full-time Assistant Centre Manager.
This is a leadership role designed for someone with at least three years previous experience as a mathematics tutor and/or experience in a leadership role. Candidates must be passionate about education, ready to take the next step in their career and be prepared to make a long-term commitment to the company. The role combines hands-on tutoring, program development, day-to-day centre management and administrative tasks. You will be working under the centre’s owner and manager, but are expected to show initiative and be a fast learner.
Requirements:
● Prior experience working with students from Kindergarten to Year 10 with a wide range of abilities and attitudes.
● Being able to build a friendly rapport with a variety of students.
● A strong background in mathematics is a necessity. The centre caters to both primary and high school aged children working on a plethora of topics, including extension topics and abstract problem-solving topics which change with the curriculum, which can be difficult to manage in a fast-paced environment.
● Strong communication skills to explain concepts effectively and efficiently to children of all ages and also to communicate educational progress, expectations, aims and difficulties to all parents and caregivers.
● Familiarity with expectations for different educational stages.
● Ability to plan and design individually-tailored lessons as well as decide on broader long-term goals.
● Ability to create supplementary resources for primary and high school maths topics, catering to children with varying abilities and interests.
● Leadership skills regarding comfortability and confidence working with young, intelligent and educated (typically university students) who are not necessarily from education backgrounds.
● An ability to relate to children of many ages in ways that promote confidence and fun while maintaining academic progression.
● Attend fortnightly meetings in various locations around Sydney.
● Attend a yearly conference that may be held in Australia or New Zealand.
● An education degree is not a requirement, however any applicant must be a university graduate. Preference will be given to candidates with a postgraduate qualification in a field with a strong base in mathematics.
● Although mathematics is the focus, candidates must also be willing to assess the English skills of students, interpret results and provide feedback to parents and carers.
● Preference will be given to candidates who are tech-savvy, preferably with experience or qualifications in the IT field.
● It is vital that the candidate chosen for the role is able to combine both leadership and team-player skills.
