About this opportunity:
We are seeking an Organisational Governance Officer to join the Governance, Risk and Integrity Team. Reporting to the Team Leader Organisational Governance, your role is to:
- Be responsible for coordinating Council’s commitment to best practice governance practices across the organisation.
- Provide advice to Council staff and administer a range of governance related matters including statutory obligations, delegations and authorisations, personal interest returns, conflict of interest management, internal audit action items
- Maintain and develop governance related policies with sound methods to support implementation
- Support the continuous improvement of organisational governance and integrity through Council’s Good Governance Framework
Your Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone with:
- Excellent communication in representing Council Policy to other Council staff, residents, government personnel and community interest groups to gain cooperation.
- Ability to develop effective relationships quickly and communicate effectively with a very diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to problem-solve and form sound decisions rapidly
- Ability to adapt quickly to any changes in the internal political and external regulatory environment
- Expertise and demonstrated experience in organisational governance
- Tertiary qualification in related discipline or substantial experience in a Governance related function.
