The Project
McConnell Dowell and CPB Contractors, along with Design partners Mott McDonald, Arup and Aurecon have been awarded the Tram Grade Separation Projects as an Alliance, comprising of works at three main locations along the Glenelg Tram Line. The purpose of the Tram Grade Separation Project is to improve the safety and efficiency of the major north south corridors to the west of the city by removing and improving the Glenelg Tram Road crossings.
The existing overpass at South Road will be replaced in order to facilitate the construction of the T2D Project. The level crossings at Marion Road and Cross Road will be removed and replaced with an overpass, and Morphett Road level crossing will also be replaced by tram overpasses removing the interface with road traffic and creating new public spaces beneath.
These projects will be delivered by the Tram Grade Separation Projects Alliance (TGSPA) together with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport.
Your opportunity
As a Traffic Supervisor, you will implement traffic management functions to achieve project safety, program, and budget objectives. Ensure the safety of the workforce and the public through the use of appropriate traffic management controls for the construction project, compliant with the contract and all relevant standards and guidelines.
- Coordinate and administer construction traffic engineering activities to ensure they are planned and implemented in accordance with project requirements, plans, designs, and specifications.
- Coordinate with construction engineers regarding Worksite Traffic Management requirements.
- Prepare Worksite Traffic Management Plans for stakeholders’ review and approval, including the preparation of traffic impact assessments and traffic guidance schemes.
- Implement major traffic setups.
- Coordinate and respond to road safety audits as required.
- Demonstrate excellent people management and verbal and written communication skills to achieve outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you must have the following
- At least 2 years’ traffic management experience on construction projects.
- Knowledgeable in construction traffic management requirements, plans, specifications, standards, and implications for project accountabilities.
- Effective time management skills, including sequencing your own work and managing resources.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
