The Role:
As the leading public health service in the northern region, we are recruiting for multiple HMO3+ in Anaesthetics to join the team at Northern Health.
This role includes minimum 9 months in Anaesthetics. The Anaesthetics SRMO year is a useful introduction to the specialty of Anaesthesia, Pain and Perioperative Medicine. The position is primarily intended for those wishing to pursue a career in Anaesthesia and is structured to provide a solid basis for Specialty Training Position applications in the subsequent year with the Australian New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA).
The year comprises of rotations in Clinical Anaesthesia, Pain Medicine, Perioperative Medicine and Broadmeadows Hospital. (The Broadmeadows Rotation encompasses anaesthesia with a limited involvement in the pain service at Broadmeadows as well as night cover at Broadmeadows.) You will be involved with the perioperative management of patients undergoing surgical procedures within various subspecialties including General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Plastics, Colorectal, Vascular, Obstetrics and Paediatrics, in a supervised and supportive environment.
Educational activities consist of mandatory attendance at the HMO Teaching Program, Departmental Meetings, and Education Days.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- At least 2 years postgraduate experience in a hospital setting (Australia or Comparable)
- Current AHPRA registration
- Australian Citizen, or holder of valid working VISA
