Mechanic Heavy Duty – Full Time
Vehicle Dealers International have been the sole national distributor for Yutong buses since 2018, specialising in distributing Yutong buses and luxury coaches to a wide range of businesses and industries across Australia. We currently have branches in Cairns, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. We are at the forefront of the industries transition to zero emission buses, we are incredibly proud of, and passionate about the extension range of vehicles we offer.

Due to our continued growth, we are now looking for another full time HD Mechanic to join our Team at our modern workshop located in Prestons. Our new team member will be part of a small team and will be assisting to prepare new buses for delivery, general servicing and maintenance repairs on buses/coaches whether in or out of warranty so will gain a lot of experience in the bus industry. There is also a lot of opportunities to develop your skills as we transition in the Electric bus revolution.
What you will be doing:
- Perform general routine servicing, repair and maintenance on heavy vehicles and electric buses
- Conduct Pre-Delivery mechanical inspections in accordance with OEM requirements
- Investigate, diagnose, and repair warranty faults in line with EOM requirements
- Identifying and reporting faults not raised by customer, but items that require attention or repair
- Performing repairs and maintenance across a range of different makes and models
- Using (or desire to learn) diagnostic equipment like Cummins Insite
- Ensuring all work activities are completed in a safe manner
- Willing to assist the team with other non-mechanical tasks as required
To be successful in this position you will have:
- Have the ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions
- Be a quick thinker and good have good problem-solving skills
- Ability to complete service paperwork, accurately recording repair details, parts used, and labour hours taken.
- Have the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, client, and suppliers
- Be trade qualified with post trade experience – Preferably heavy Diesel mechanical trade
- Have an interest in Electric Vehicles or hybrid vehicles
- MR Licence desirable
- Forklift ticket desirable

We have a competitive annual salary range of $76,515.00 and $80,000.00. Rate will be negotiated at interview.
