The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking to fill the role of Executive Director, Program Delivery to fill a critical role within the Technology Solutions and Data Security business unit.

About the Business Unit

Technology Solutions and Data Security (TSDS) focuses on meeting the department's data and digital needs by providing responsive, high value and sustainable ICT services. TSDS delivers, maintains and optimises technology solutions that enable the department's business function via the use of cutting-edge platforms, products and services. It supports enterprise-wide platforms and oversees the delivery of services provided by technology providers such as Cenitex

About the Role

As Executive Director, Program Delivery , you will take responsibility for ensuring the effective strategic management of stakeholders to maximise the progress of the ICT program and ensure an optimum level of user understanding and acceptance. Further, you will oversee evaluation strategies that monitor performance and determine the need for improvements and oversee all program activity and deliverables to meet the demands and expectations of key stakeholders and the broader department.

You will also take responsibility for:

  • Developing strong and sustainable relationships with key stakeholders in a complex environment with a high degree of sensitivity, ensuring a high level of reciprocal engagement.
  • Providing strategic leadership to the management and governance of the delivery program, the achievement of its strategic outcomes and to ensuring its capability to respond to new and emerging opportunities and risks.
  • Developing and maintaining robust program delivery, governance, risk, security and management frameworks, methodologies and standards.
  • Developing a client-centric culture within the delivery team that is focused on realising benefits, meeting project objectives and delivering value for money for the State.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Extensive program delivery experience within a complex ICT environment that has led to transformational outcomes and created significant value for the business.
  • A track record of building successful business partnerships, including a demonstrated ability to build strong cross functional relationships,
  • Ability to quickly understand conceptually demanding problems, reason through issues as well as champion and implement innovative and improved ways of achieving outcomes.
  • Proven capacity to manage complex programs and projects, including the evaluation of financial, technical, management and legal aspects of competing bids, negotiation and benchmarking processes of a complex nature.
  • Expert knowledge of ICT governance, risk and assurance and a strong ability to balance operational effectiveness with strategic change delivery, leading and promoting creativity and flexibility whilst assuring strong regulatory, policy and standards compliance outcomes

Qualifications

  • Formal qualifications and relevant experience in Information Technology and project management are desirable
