Your New Role
Based in Melbourne’s West, you will work from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, reporting to the school’s Project Manager. You will be responsible for managing 10 trades staff, essential services, building projects, and overall campus and grounds maintenance.
Your structured maintenance duties will include
- Planning for the college’s strategic and master plans – including major upgrades and capital expenditure, such as obtaining quotes, pricing, and liaising with consultants, builders, tradespeople, and contractors;
- Assigning, monitoring, and documenting maintenance activities;
- Financial forecasting, and obtaining and evaluating quotations for quality and cost-effectiveness;
- Providing leadership and oversight to a small team;
- Ensuring daily, weekly, monthly, and annual schedules are maintained;
- Managing grounds maintenance, expansion projects, and issue resolution reporting;
- Developing preventative maintenance schedules to ensure the long-term condition and pristine appearance of buildings, equipment, and infrastructure; and
- Ensuring compliance with legislation related to building works and demonstrating strong OHS awareness.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a property management role, preferably in a school environment;
- Certificate III in OHS highly regarded;
- Strong people management skills;
- Trade background highly advantageous;
- Reside in Melbourne’s West, flexibility to work Saturdays, and a strong commitment to delivering results;
- Strong financial and budgeting skills;
- Ability to liaise with contractors, service providers, and regulatory bodies; and
- Hold a current and valid driver’s licence and Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Manage a small but growing trades team with a strong team culture;
