About Us

Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.

Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

VCAT

The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) is a justice service that resolves a wide range of disputes for the Victorian community, including renting, planning, and consumer disputes. VCAT is committed to delivering an accessible service for all Victorians and is transforming our digital products and services to make it faster, easier, and more convenient for people to come to the tribunal.

VCAT has embarked on a digitally-enabled service transformation focused on delivering enhanced online services for our users, end to end digital workflows in all our lists, and building an empowered and capable workforce who are receptive and ready for change.

About the Role

The Member Support Officer (MSO) is responsible for providing high level administrative support for Tribunal Members. Your duties will include:

  • proactively and efficiently providing administrative services under the directions and guidance of the Member Support Team Leader, to deliver effective support to Tribunal Members for sensitive and complex legal matters
  • finalise orders and decisions, including publication to external databases including Austlii, Jade and Lexis Nexus
  • build strong stakeholder relationships to ensure the efficient management and processing of Tribunal decisions and orders
  • contribute to team projects and service delivery initiatives that seek to improve processes and the quality of support provided to Tribunal Members and other business units
  • work collaboratively across the broader Hearing Services teams, providing assistance as needed

This role is for a 12 month fixed term period.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

  • be highly organised, committed and a resilient team player
  • possess well-developed interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders
  • have the ability to plan and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment with good attention to detail
  • be experienced in Microsoft Office and have an ability to learn new databases and systems

Experience in a legal administrative environment is desirable.
