About the Role
As an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant, you will be providing personalised support to older Australians to continue living independently in their home whilst making a positive impact in their community.
We have Casual opportunities available with working hours between 8am and 7pm, Monday to Friday, with no evening or sleepover shifts. Shift durations can start from 2 hours. The successful candidate will have a willingness to travel, as they will be supporting clients who reside around Canberra, travelling between clients homes to support multiple clients in one day.
Key Responsibilities
- Domestic assistance such as meal preparation and light house cleaning
- Personal Care including grooming and showering
- Community access to medical appointments and social activities
- Supporting with tasks and routines
- Build positive relationships with clients
Skills & Experience
- Passionate about making a positive impact in our ageing community
- An Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)
Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check and an Aged Care Statutory Declaration.
