About the teamThe APS Professions Team is highly motivated and committed to developing strategic approaches to how we understand, identify, use, build and measure specialist capability in the APS. We are responsible for the APS Professions model and the coordination of strategies, activities and platforms to support the APS Professions and agencies to build the competency of the APS workforce in critical and specialist capabilities. We work collaboratively with stakeholders domestically and internationally across government, academia and industry to co-design approaches to attracting, developing, retaining and deploying a highly capable workforce.
We also manage the Australian Government Style Manual and related resources to help people create clear and consistent content and enhance writing capability.
The key duties of the position include
In this job, you will be the primary technical support for the APS Career Pathfinder online application. This includes:
- continual development of the tool, involving analysis of user needs, design of solutions and implementation of those designs
- support of the user and data environment of APS Career Pathfinder, which involves assisting users and diagnosing and resolving issues that arise
- supporting and improving the deployment pipeline and the AWS hosting environment, which turns the codebase into a live service
- working with other agencies to develop the code
- writing and maintaining documentation
- contributing to technical capability uplift in APSC & APS
As part of the APS Professions team you may also be called on to support other services and initiatives, like APS Jobs (based on Salesforce) and the APS Profession's community space (based on Higher Logic). You will also have the opportunity to participate in other APS workforce building initiatives according to your interests.
