Description

This role forms a key part of the development and delivery of environmental support to residents and businesses across the region, and consists of a mix of operational and strategic environmental health work:

  • Develop, implement, and manage environmental health and sustainability programs.
  • Oversee and enforce environmental health regulations within the organisation.
  • Provide expert advice on ESG matters to stakeholders and the wider community.
  • Conduct environmental health risk assessments and devise mitigation strategies.
  • Lead public education and awareness initiatives on environmental health issues.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to advance environmental health goals.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the implemented sustainability programs.
  • Champion the organisation's environmental health and sustainability mission.

Profile

A successful Senior Environmental Health Officer should have:

  • A degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working in environmental health within the public sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to drive ESG initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental health legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders and the community.
