About the role and where you will be working:
The Therapy Assistant is responsible for providing person-centred individual support for residents; promoting emotional, spiritual and psychological well-being.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Organise the activities planner and conduct activities with support from the care team and volunteers
- Support therapy team to ensure Activity programs are carried out daily
- Provide activities according to the guidance and activity care plan developed by the visiting OT
- Support activities on 1:1 basis and in groups that supports the rituals, habits and interests the resident had before entering residential care and has a therapeutic value
About you:
Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in an Aged Care setting is preferred.
To be considered for this role, you’ll need:
- Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent
- Previous Experience in an Aged Care environment
- Have well-developed interpersonal skills to communicate effectively on all levels both written and verbal.
- Have the ability to work harmoniously with people from a diverse range of social, economic, cultural and religious backgrounds.
