Description:

EnerMech is looking for a dedicated Alcoa Project Technician to join our team. This role will play a critical part in supporting our operations on the Alcoa project, ensuring that we meet client expectations and project milestones efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project management and site teams to execute project tasks effectively.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery.
  • Conduct regular inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Heat exchanger repairs and overhauls.
  • Basic pipefitting and flange management.
  • Participate in safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding project progress and any potential issues.

This position is based on-site at Alcoa facilities, offering a dynamic work environment and the opportunity to contribute significantly to project outcomes.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Relevant trade qualification or experience in a mechanical or technical discipline.
  • Experience in the mining or heavy industrial sectors is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in using technical tools and equipment related to the project.
  • Current certifications such as First Aid, Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry (valid within 2 years) are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of heat exchanger servicing and repairs.
  • MSMSS00017 - Use High Pressure Water Jetting Equipment or MSMSS00018 - Operate a High-Pressure Water Jetting System (desirable).
  • BASIC Rigging (desirable).
  • HR Truck license (desirable).
  • Knowledge of bolting/unbolting and flange management (desirable).
