About the role

Provide administrative and medical records process support in relation to confidential medical records (paper and digital). Contribute to patient flow by ensuring the presence of required medical files and information internally and externally as required in both paper and digital form (ieMR). The Medical Records Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Actual start and finish times vary according to service requirements and may include the incumbent to work according to a 24-hour shift roster (this will include weekends and public holidays).

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Process, receipt and track incoming and outgoing patient medical records accurately to ensure charts are accessible for timely continuity of patient care.
  • Perform general administrative duties including answering telephone and front counter enquiries.
  • Generate reports of missing charts and liaise with all departments of the hospital to locate these and redirect to the requesting area within sometimes stringent and critical timeframes.
  • Contribute to the daily operations of the medical records department by providing advice and support to staff as required.
