Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that supports the negotiated settlement of native title claims and Recognition and Settlement Agreements (RSA) in Victoria. The successful candidate will have strong negotiation skills and have the ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with Traditional Owners. The role will contribute to the negotiated settlement of native title claims and RSAs as they relate to land and natural resource management, consisistent with the governments self-determination policies.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
* Experience and knowledge in the development and delivery of policy, programs and projects; demonstrated use of these skills in Traditional Owner policy development and/or implementation.
* A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and society and ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal people.
* Experience with, and understanding of, the Traditional Owner Settlement Act (Vic) 2010 and Native Title Act (Cwlth) 1993. and self-determination.
* Tertiary qualification(s) including post-graduate qualification(s) in law and/or para-legal fields will be highly regarded. Tertiary qualifications in economics, public policy, natural resource or environmental management, business management or similar is desirable.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
