Join a high-impact communications team driving change for Queenslanders We're on the lookout for two talented Senior Digital and Media Officers to join our Strategic Communications team.
Both roles share the same classification and position description — but we're recruiting for two distinct skillsets:
- One role will lead on media inquiries, issues management and media opportunities
- The other will lead on social media strategy, digital content planning and video and editing.
Media-Focused Role: You're media savvy and stay calm under pressure
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Knows how to respond quickly to media inquiries, work well under pressure
- Can write compelling speeches, media releases and executive messages with authority
- Understands the government landscape and has sound judgement on reputational risk
- Thrives in issues-rich, fast-paced environments, and takes direction well
Digital/Social-Focused Role: You're the digital brain with creative edge
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Lives and breathes social media content and trends across all platforms
- Can build platform-first content strategies with measurable impact
- Knows how to analyse digital performance and adjust on the fly
- Has a sharp creative eye — and proven experience delivering engaging, highperforming content

The Strategic Communications unit leads the development and delivery of campaigns, content and engagement strategies across the Office of Industrial Relations. Our work influences behaviour, raises awareness, and ultimately improves the safety and wellbeing of workers and communities across Queensland.
