Network Deployment Planner, GND

Amazon Corporate Services Pty Ltd
Sydney Full-day Full-time

Description:

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Amazon is looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in-class Network Deployment Planner to drive brick deployment planning within our APAC data centers.

About You:
You are someone with strong analytical capabilities who excels at translating complex capacity forecasts into executable deployment plans. You have demonstrated experience in data center infrastructure planning and can effectively coordinate between engineering, supply chain, and field teams. You possess deep technical knowledge of network infrastructure components and deployment methodologies.

You will have experience managing interdependent projects, building relationships across multiple technical teams, and developing innovative solutions to meet scaling challenges. You maintain high standards for planning accuracy and project execution while continuously seeking process improvements. Your strong communication skills enable you to effectively coordinate with stakeholders across different functions and time zones.

This role is based in Sydney and may require occasional travel to regional data center locations.

Key job responsibilities
As a Network Deployment Planner in Amazon, you will be responsible for orchestrating the successful planning and preparation of brick deployment projects across APAC data centers.

The role requires strong analytical thinking and the ability to work autonomously while maintaining excellent coordination across multiple stakeholder groups.

Your day job will include (but not limited to):
• Creating and maintaining detailed deployment plans for network infrastructure projects
• Analyzing capacity forecasts and translating them into executable work packages
• Coordinating with supply chain to ensure materials availability aligns with project timelines
• Developing detailed work breakdowns and dependencies for field execution teams
• Managing project documentation and maintaining accurate planning records
• Conducting pre-deployment reviews to identify and mitigate potential risks
• Building relationships with engineering, supply chain, and field teams to ensure smooth execution
• Supporting continuous improvement of planning processes and methodologies
• Tracking project milestones and providing status updates to stakeholders
• Contributing to the development of standardized planning templates and best practices

A day in the life
Days typically involve strategic planning and coordination across multiple concurrent projects. The planning phase begins with analyzing capacity forecasts and translating requirements into structured work packages using standardized templates. You'll spend time coordinating with supply chain teams to validate material availability, consulting with engineering on technical specifications, and working with field teams to ensure deployment plans are executable.

A typical day might include participating in cross-functional meetings to align project timelines, creating detailed work breakdowns for upcoming deployments, reviewing and updating project documentation, and coordinating with stakeholders across different time zones. You'll regularly use data analysis tools to track project progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and develop mitigation strategies to keep projects on schedule.
