Aasan Pty Ltd is a specialist engineering consulting firm, founded on strong pillars of sustainability, integrity, accountability, trust, and innovation.
They now seek an experienced Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson to join the team.
The Role:
The position for hire is a Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson and will be for a full time basis at $73,150 - $75500 per annum.
This is a full time role and will be based in Chester Hill, NSW.
The Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed technical drawings and plans for mechanical systems and components
- Review and interpret engineering sketches and specifications to make sure everything is accurate
- Help with cost estimates, schedules, and project timelines
- Work closely with engineers and designers to ensure the design meets all requirements
- Develop and revise designs using CAD software
- Create 3D models for coordination and construction
- Build and develop mechanical parts and system families
- Update drawings based on feedback from engineers, clients, or other stakeholders
- Assist in choosing materials, parts, and components for mechanical systems
- Keep documentation updated for design changes and project progress
- Communicate with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective
- Conduct drawing and model reviews and provide support during the coordination process
- Supervise the review and fixing of drawings setup and Model templates
- Ensure designs meet specifications, industry codes and standards
The Requirements:
- A relevant trade qualification in a related field
- At least 2 years of proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit)
- At least 2 years of experience with 3D modelling
- At least 2 years of experience in creating and revising detailed technical drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with materials selection and families creation
- Proficient in performing clash detection and reporting
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and designers
- Experience in cost estimation and project scheduling
- Strong organisational skills for maintaining documentation and project updates
- Knowledge of industry codes, standards, and compliance requirements
