About the Role

Join the dynamic and compassionate team at the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) as an Allied Health Assistant (Social Work) and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, recovery-focused mental health services. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide essential support to Social Work staff, assisting with the smooth operation of the Social Work service across the Mental Health Unit. This rewarding role offers an opportunity to work in both inpatient and community settings, supporting consumers across youth, adult, and older persons' services.

As an Allied Health Assistant, you will play a key role in facilitating the delivery of social work interventions and assisting in the day-to-day running of the service. You will support consumers with mental health needs, helping them navigate their recovery journey with dignity and respect. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and experience in a supportive, collaborative environment while making a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need.

Experience working with people with mental health issues is required.

About You

To thrive in this role, you'll bring the following qualities and qualifications:

  • Currently completing or willing to complete a Certificate IV in Mental Health or similar qualification, or enrolled in a relevant undergraduate health course.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with consumers, families, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, with a focus on mental health recovery.
  • Proven communication skills, with the ability to manage stress, stay professional, and maintain confidentiality.
