About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Speech Pathologist to join our dynamic team at AHP2 level. In this role, you will provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient communication and swallowing services to an adult acute or sub-acute caseload, across weekdays and weekends. Working independently, you’ll contribute to improved patient outcomes through expert clinical care, while also providing mentorship and professional support to less experienced speech pathologists, allied health assistants, and students. Your contributions will play a key role in enhancing multidisciplinary management and delivering evidence-based care to patients across a range of settings.

As a developing expert in the field, you’ll deepen your knowledge and skills in the assessment and management of complex and high-acuity caseloads. This role offers the flexibility of working across various CALHN sites, including the Royal Adelaide Hospital, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre, and Repat Health Precinct. You’ll also have the opportunity to drive quality improvement initiatives and participate in service planning activities, contributing to the ongoing development of best-practice service delivery within the team.

About You

You are a skilled and compassionate Speech Pathologist, ready to make a difference in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. With your expertise and dedication, you’ll help deliver high-quality care and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.

  • Degree in Speech Pathology (or equivalent), with eligibility for full membership of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).

  • Strong clinical skills in assessing and managing a broad range of speech and swallowing conditions, including dysphagia and cognitive/communication disorders.

  • Excellent ability to work within a team, contributing to patient-centred care and achieving team and individual goals, with a focus on critical thinking and problem-solving.

  • Proven experience in managing complex cases, creating individualised care plans, and fostering positive, respectful relationships with consumers, carers, and team members.
